A church that loves leadership
Even though they are both equally God, in the Bible we see Jesus joyfully submitting to Father God, who has all authority (1 Corinthians 15:28). Citizens submit to governments, even though they are as human as each other. Wives submit to husbands, even though we are equally valuable and gifted, and husbands love their wives as servant leaders (Ephesians 5:22-33). God loves leadership (Romans 13:1), and He loves it when people submit to others out of love and respect for Jesus.
It's the same in the church: the Holy Spirit urges churches to 'obey your leaders and submit to their authority' (Hebrews 13:17), and leaders are told to 'shepherd the flock of God under their care, not domineering, but being an example' (1 Peter 5:1-3). So it's within everyone's interests that the church is governed biblically! At Living Word Church we want to follow that model.
Dale & Joy Barrett
Pastors
Dale and his family are from Jamaica and have been living in Bexhill since 2002 and have a son and daughter. Dale studied at Mattersey Hall Bible College and in 2011 became a fully accredited
Assemblies of God UK minister. In December of that year Dale took over the reins as lead Pastor of the Living Word Church.
Dale’s vision is to see the people of Bexhill brought into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and to develop a real relationship with Him. With a small core of leaders Dale is busy preparing the
local congregation of the Living Word Church to get deeper into the Word of God so that they develop a knowledge and understanding of who God is, and be ready to share the good news of their
salvation with all they meet and whoever comes through the doors of the Living Word Church.
Welcome Team
Richard is married to Gigi who is part of the worship team. Richard leads the welcome team at LWC and also the Men's Meetings.
Worship Team
We are blessed to have a passionate and dedicated Worship Team, led by Joyce.
